The Koala is super grippy. I wish the tether was a little longer and the clasp (grab a piece of shirt) a little grippier. I have a Samsung Galaxy S21, so the Koala strap rides over the increase volume button.

I learned the hard way that hiking with a phone comes with a risk of becoming lost or damaged, even though I was careful. And I found that it wraps around the Otterbox case very nicely so the two are complimentary on hikes. However, when I was with friends at an outdoor rooftop restaurant, there were lots of tourists and locals taking sunset photos near the railing and it occurred to me that it would be prudent to have the Koala for everyday use too. One slip and the phone would be over the edge and gone. So, I will include use it more for routine out and about errands.

My main reason for buying this was for when I am skiing and taking my phone out on the chairlift. This will definitely give me a better sense of safety for my iPhone while using it in that situation. I expect I will also utilize it when riding my bike or doing other exercises where it would be possible to drop the phone.

My daughter and husband will be taking their koalas on a lot of hiking trips with their 2 year old. Now losing the phone is one less thing to think of!

I knew the moment I saw KOALA, I had to have one. I have Desert Orange, and my husband has Campfire Gray. I can’t count the times I’ve heard, “Where’s my phone?” We do a lot of hiking and fly fishing, so our phones are always at risk of getting dropped, misplaced, or lost. Koala brings peace of mind. We love the look, and secure fit. The lanyard has a strong clip and carabiner option. We just clip KOALA to our packs, and with no need to unclip, are able to use our phones hassle and worry-free.

I used it at a baseball and clipped it to my jersey. The weight of the phone pulled my jersey askew SO I slid the phone ( with the koala on it) into my regulation-sized clear plastic bag - a snug fit- and the koala stuck to my bay when I pulled it out by the cord and the koala came off my phone and my phone fell to the ground. Thank heavens I had a case on it. I like it in theory but it didn’t work for me for the very purpose I purchased it for.

I use the Koala when I ride my bike or do any other outdoor activity where losing/dropping my phone would pretty much be the end of my phone; broken or lost. Koala definitely keeps it safe from dropping. This is actually my second Koala as my first one wasn't compatible with my new phone. Would have blocked the camera. Obviously not possible to guess what new phones will look like so I can't say that's a negative. Worked well enough on my 1st phone that made it worth buying a new one.

We were whale watching and knowing the phone was secure while on the boat was ideal. Will be using it for all vacays and hikes.

It kept my phone secure and attached to me or my bag at all times, it didn’t interfere with the camera and minor blocking on the screen at the corners. It is made well and is very sturdy yet stretchy. Don’t settle for the imitation harnesses and just get this one you will not regret it!

I like the idea of the Koala, but found that the phone case that you use can have a big effect on how good the connection between the lanyard and the phone is. With my basic clear case, it easily slipped out the Koala in almost any pocket. To help this issue, a purchased a cheap case from a local big-box store (an iHome case) that has a large soft pad on the back of the case. With this one, I can spin the Koala with the phone attached like a propeller and it doesn't come out. Otherwise, the quality of the Koala is top notch (amazing really and worth every penny), but yes, inserting in pockets can loosen one or more of the "ears" depending on the case.

Unless you have a loop or a button hole to affix the clasp to, this does not work. The other clip does not have enough grasping power to use anywhere else - the whole clip slips off and,uh oh, there goes your phone!

I used both clips to connect the phone harness to the strap of my water bottle carrier during my recent trip to southern Italy and Greece. It was extremely easy to access my phone to take photos and then put it back in an open pocket on the water carrier. Always had enough length to get the photo and never worried about dropping it or leaving it. Thanks for a fantastic product!

This works very well, it keeps my phone very snug and since I have bad hands I won’t be dropping it every few minutes.

KOALA gives me confidence and peace of mind that my phone is safe on all my adventures. I love to fish, hunt, and hike and now I can do so knowing that my phone will stay safe and not fall out of my tree or in the water!

Dislike that it covers the back button, which is used often when taking photos or using the AllTrails app. Had not intended to leave a review, but since you asked...

I am known for dropping my phone. Koala is an essential item in my pack when I'm hiking in the Superstition Mountains in Arizona. Not one drop since I got the Koala!
