The rubber band thing slips off my iPhone 13 mini. I think the small size of the phone makes the tension too loose to be secure. Pulling it out of my pocket, the rubber bands would slide off due to the friction on my pocket fabric. It’s also annoying how the rubber bands block parts of the screen (clock, bars etc.).
